OUR MISSION

Our research shows just how widespread the issue is: 87.7% of people regularly have unused medicines lying around at home, yet 92.2% of them end up in the trash. These are medications that could have helped someone, medications that should never have gone to waste.

Every year, medicines worth over ₹270 crore are discarded in India (Mint News, 2024), thrown away not because they’re ineffective, but simply because they go unused and expire. At the same time, countless families are forced to make impossible choices, skipping life-saving treatment they simply can’t afford.

The good news? People want to help. In a survey of over 150 individuals, 90.9% said they would be willing to donate their unused medicines if given the opportunity. That’s the gap The Pill Project is here to fill.

Because no medicine should be wasted, and no life should go untreated.
